The Philosophy

On Good Dog, Good Owner, the goal is to teach owners to teach their dogs using positive reinforcement. Positive reinforcement strives to use only positive consequences in repsponse to a dog’s behavior.  For example, to stop a inappropriate chewing, instead of a harsh “NO!”, it wouild be better to direct the chewing to a chew toy and give generous praise when he chews the toy instead of the leg of the chair. Positive reinforcement is an effective method that is used by many successful dog related organization, including Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
